atect Corporation started its corporate history when the last executive chairman, Isamu Kotaka , independently established its predecessor, Dainichi Chemical Factory , to embark on the plastic forming business at Minamiikuno-cho, Ikuno-ku, Osaka-shi in October, 1959. The roots of the company can be traced back as far as the prewar period when the proprietor before last was engaging in manufacturing buttons for clothes and thermosetting resin insulators for Japanese cruiser submarines and Kintetsu railway vehicles. In 1963, the company moved to Aramoto, Higashiosaka-shi and started to manufacture cocks for Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. and cosmetic containers. Furthermore, it started to engage in specially designed cam forming for sewing machines and internally produce dies featuring higher precision. On April 23, 1969, Dainichi Chemical Industry Co. Ltd. was established with an aim to expand the businesses relating to plastic film speaker diaphragms etc.
